Think i have broke it a bit... Now fixed it :D
2001 bug UK300 with PPP
got a boost gauge fitted, was making 17psi till the other night having a play, brushed the redline in second and the CEL came on for CPS - common on the bug. i then noticed its only making 7 psi now.
CEL is now off, got it to come on again earlier and now off again.
been having a look just now, cant find any air leaks or hoses split etc the boost is stable, ie not peaking then dropping off etc, just a constant 7psi.
got a pair of pliers on the actuator and its not too hard to pull out, but i have nothing to compare it to, to see if its that.
if i rev it in neutral the actuator will move a bit.
so thinking its either that, or the bleed valve thing that the hose goes to from the actuator.
what would you chaps suggest?
cheers

7psi is actuator pressure (give or take) so it could be that despite the CEL having gone off the car is still in limp mode. You need to reset the ECU to discount that. Otherwise I'd be thinking about the boost solenoid

cheers mate, is the boost solenoid the denso thing that the tee from the actuator hose goes to? it then vents back into the inlet. (so pretty sure it is!)
how would one go about resetting the ecu?
hopefully a colleague of mine will be back in work tomoz with his fault reader...

just had a look at the radio and there is nothing on it that says its coded, unlike other radios that you have to put a code in... so fingers crossed, i might disconnect the batt lol

Lilttle update then.
Had the battery off for an hour...
I now have 15psi of boost! But upon startup the CEL was lit....
Also it doesnt run quite right, feels a bit hesistant, misfire almost from 3-5k after thAt it seems not so bad.
So ill try and get hold of the OBD reader, but im going to try and ride in again tomoz, so it might have to wait....
So to summerise, disconnecting the battery DID make a difference
Anyone want to buy a UK300 lol?

ok, think i have fixed it now lol
had a look yesterday, took the one spark plug i could get to out, had to remove battery etc and pulled the plug out, its a normal grey colour so at least that cylinder is running ok lol.
so had a look at all plug connectors etc and they all seemed ok, and for some reason i took the MAF sensor out and had a look at that...
it was black with grime etc! so i got out the isopropanol alcohol spray and a cotton bud and gave it a little clean.
i also had a look at the air cleaner as id not looked before, it looks a bit like a K&N but its blue in colour, wasnt particularly dirty either...
so all back together and car feels nice and smooth again, back to full power D:
