1996 wrx v-limited turbo upgrade
Ok I want to upgrade my turbo before I remap the car... Any suggestions ??? I want biggest power increase but also want to stay safe on the engine...
Engine mods already done...
Baileys dump valve
autobahn front mount intercooler
Hks power flow air filter
Walbro 255lp fuel pump
full haywood & scott decat stainless steel exhaust system
440cc injectors
Currently has a chipped z4 ecu... But am going to go Alcatek/simtek with anti-lag and launch control after this upgrade...
Does anyone know what stock turbo I am running now ??? And what would be my best upgrade ???
Thanks mike

Pretty sure you'll have a td05 16G on there, if thats the case id stick with that. Will make good (circa 320) power, spool well and not stress your old engine too much.
Id also ditch that horrible bailey dump valve.
Is it a V2 or V3 car. (Its not actually classed as a version as its a wrx but its the easiest way to describe it).

Yep will be a TD05 then, the VF's started on the V3 cars.
Its a good capable turbo you have once mapped properly, no need to change it imo. Remember its an old car so a safe reliable 320bhp is better than, well you get the idea.
Baileys just aren't highly thought of, not the greatest quality and with a bit of searching you'll find some horror stories. Something like a forge are recommended by chaps here. Ive never been a dump valve man so maybe better to hear some other comments from those who use them
