Default Had My First Track day today :)

So today I went to the RS Show at Donnington Park, which had a open pit lane so got it for £90 from 10am-5pm thought it was a bargain.. Never being on the track before I thought I would throw myself in the deep end and enter in the expert class... Less people in it and learnt a lot from the other drivers... First session I had a friend of mine in with me helping me out.... The buzz was amazing.. For the rest of the day was out on my own, couple friends had evo6 and wrx ppp, so had some fun with them overall very happy... Really learnt the car a lot better and my confidence grew through out the day....
Bring on the next one carnt wait...

Old school RS had a little accident..... Spun as it came in boost!! Be gutted if I was the owner!!

Great to hear you had a brilliant time & a trouble free day! Nice one.

Did you prepare the car for the day & what did you do?

Not done one in my scoob yet (only had it a week lol) but did a couple in my teg and absolutely loved it.

It can be a very slippery slope into roll cages and track tyres

Yeah gave it a oil and filter change yesterday and checked car over... Only had a slight problem with oil breather pipe coming off near side rocker cover, quick fix... Apart from that had a great day.... Brembos struggled a bit towards end of each 20min session... Tool a bit of cooling down....
Car running about 440bhp so have the lower there just handling to add bits to now, running BC cool overs but want to put few more bits on

Nice one.

Glad you're getting the max thrill out of it.

I think you can get a billet conversion for the MD321. Ever thought of it?

Amazed you got on OK with kevlar pads! I completely destroyed a set in my 2nd 20min session Get some proper track pads in there and you'd have a lot more fun again, Donington is an amazing track and very good for a first time as there's tones of run off.

Now the bugs bitten your done for

I've used EBC Orangestuff which were ok but got alot of judder from them after a track day. Just fitted some Carbone Lorraine CL5+ as i've got a trackday on the 30th so will be interesting to see how they fare after that, reports are they're a decent step up from the orangestuff's.

I used the rc5+ on my integra a couple of times on track and they were awesome pads, they just never fade

I use RC5+ as well.
Very good all rounder.
Bit noisy and dusty, but I don't really care about either of these two things.

The standard Brembo 4's will take a lot of abuse on track with decent pads and discs, unless you start entering time attack you'll probably be fine with some better pads
