We were asked to help select and build a car for track use. We recommended a JDM Hawkeye as being a really good start, based on our brief.
The owner found one for sale (on SN of course!) and we were despatched to check it out. Everything looked fine, bearing in mind what we were going to do so the cash was wired over and I had a bumpy ride back to Plymouth from Surrey on the Tein coilovers!
We dynoed the car first, then removed and stripped the motor.
We've rebuilt it using an EJ22 stroker, Cosworth rods, Mahle pistons, Kelford cams, large valve heads, RCM 12mm oil pump, baffled sump, catch tank, twisted kit and billet GT35 turbo. Litchfield swirl pot and Bosch pump.
Syvecs came with it, so that's been set up by Martyn of course.
AP front brakes.
Track test was at Castle Combe, the first time the owner had seen the car, never mind driven it.
All went well, apart from a power steering fluid leak, caused by the one part we hadn't worked on (Rack). That was after three sessions totalling 38 laps, so no worries.

It looks and goes great!
This is from today's final mapping session, further settings being made after the test and data logging results.

Note the red traces, which show the results on arrival, using the stock twin scroll 2 litre set up. Not at all bad, but notice how we've gained everywhere on the blue lines with no loss of spool, certainly over 3000 rpm!
PS.. for sale, used 2 litre short block and twin scroll turbo/manifold. Etc.
