Default A year after........

selling my WRX Bug Eye, and flirting with a couple of lukewarm turbo cars, I have decided to get another scooby.

It has to be a late(ish) classic and must have a min 260 brake. So in reality I'm looking for an import if pos but would consider a sensibly modded UK car.

If anyone knows of a nice classic that's not gonna cost me more than 3k then please let me know. It'll be good to have the burble back in my life!

Cheers all, Danny.

Good luck in your search. A late classic is a good buy. I would suggest a late sti 5/6 odd ones do come up cheap but prices are slowly increasing for clean cars. A uk car will be cheaper and a 99/00 car will make 280bhp will a decent map, decat and panel filter. As the classics are getting old I would suggest buying from a true enthusiast. Too many "chav'ed" unloved cars will hidden past. i brought mine a couple of years ago and it's been a dream. I was temped with Cheaper cars but I'm glad I waited for a nice one. It's a buyers market so take your time.

Yeah cheers mate. I'm hoping my near 20 years in the motor trade might help me search out a gem. I'm trying to stay patient but imports seems to be getting rare.

Small world. I'm one notch over in tilgate.

That's a little too old for me. I'm after V4 on really. As I said, as close to being one of the last as I can manage. Trust me I'm looking hard!

Now that's more like it. Typically I was down in Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago. I might have to take a look at that. It's a fair old trot if it turns out to be ****e tho. Haha.

Haha. Thanks for the offer dude but unless you are taking me with you I'll need to pass on that. I don't trust some techs I've worked with for years so to trust someone I've never met would seriously mess with my OCD. Haha.

I need to quickly make a choice on wether to view it though. It's a crap journey but I don't think that will be round for long.

It's always a risk. Low miles, version you want, good price and if Alan or Martyn back it up (remap) then the risk should be a lot lower than just any old classic.
