boost n smoke

Default boost n smoke

hi everyone just need some help with my v4 i was driving along the motorway and each time the dump valve did its thing smoke came out of one of the vent but no smoke out the back so i tryed to drive home form up north then it lost boost and smoke came out the back so i pulled over and theres a oil leak under the car and spots of oil all over the boot and bumper any help

If you have smoke coming through the breather system. To ME, that sounds like oil is passing the rings and is passing back into the crank case, being pulled out by the vacuume of the turbo, then dumped out through the DV?

I may be wrong, but it sounds like the systems I had on my last scoob. Running lean an it cooked the rings on number 3.

If you can be bothered, check your plugs for fouling. That will give you a positive answer...

And make sure you get a chuffer valve fitted if you do - best make it not perform correctly from day one

Compression test.

Remove plugs and look for fouling. (As already suggested).

Ok started it up today little bit of smoke on idle all plugs have a little bit of oil but turbo was flooded with oil
