And after a rub with a chamois.

No can't say I have tried it. I have quite a lot of cleaning products but mainly the normal run of the mill auto-glym,autosmart, etc the swissvax is the first high end product I've tried. The video I put up shows it better but doesn't seem to have worked :-(

I have heard the older leather style ones can hold onto dirt and scratch and put swirls in you're paint. Just what I've read I'm sure someone can correct me if that's wrong

If you take care of your chamois you will be fine, the same with anything, a dirty sponge or anything across your paintwork is not gona be good.

I have used chamois for years even on new paint work i will change them regularly and never had any problems, best thing for it IMO

Paint work looks good buddy, i take it the beading is from a hose and not rain?

Yeah we had a wee blast over night but it's been lovely here too, the roof shot looks like rain, rain gives the best beading

Tidy job. I'm now looking forward to some morning dew on the roof or some rain in the morning before work to see how it looks

Nice
I use Dodo Supernatural on a similar shade of silver which gets very good results. Not the easiest to work with but even looks amazing on my carbon fibre

I quite dance trying the R222 wax that was P21's that seams to get a very good write up for a deep wet look shine.
I friend of mine does swear by all the Dodo products tho a that's all he ever uses on his Focus ST

I was the same as you, but since I've used micro fibre mit to wash with and then the micro fibre towels to dry I've never looked back.

I have 4 of these on the go to dry off
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kent-Car-C...item2ec6f85776

and use shaggy micro fibre mits to polish the car too.
like these

Chamois dry ok but the problem with them is there is nowhere for any contaminants to go. If you have abrasive particles on the paint it gets trapped between the chamois and the paint causing scratches and swirls. This is made even worse by the fact that in drying the water you are removing the lubricant. Waffle weave drying towles are better as they allow and grit to go into the cloth reducing the risk of scratching. You are more likely to cause scratches in drying then you are washed due to the lack of lubricant (water suds ect). The best way to dry is dry without touching the car. You can use leaf blowers, compressors of filtered water that's below 30ppm.
