hi guys,
I am under the impression that this subaru is a WRX, but it has STI dials a fairly large rear spoiler clearly from factory and 17" 5 spoke lightweght wheels painted black with subaru centure caps. it also has reverse vents on either side of the bonnet. It is an import of 2007 on an L plate and the badge is the subaru stars but in pink/purple. I know the STI has spotlamp covers but the spotlamps have been replaced with crystal units.

is there anything i can look for to confirm what model it is?

Get the Chassis code, this will help nail it.

Early STI Models had the same chassis code as the WRX, as the story goes they were taken from the WRX production line and given the STI treatment. They did get an extra plate saying it was an STI with a month of manufacture and a ? / 200 individual number.

As above, applied model code won't help on the first gen sti as its the same as the wrx.

Check the drivers side inner front wing for a plate with STI and the number written on.

What's the rev limiter say Dont the wrx redline start at 7k where as the sti will be 8k
