I used my RA Ltd everyday for a 30 mile round trip. Apart from the fuel bills no other problems. Only difference between the 2 is a couple of doors.

Yup until today it was my daily drive. I only live 3-4 miles from work, but they are 3-4 interesting miles in a TypeR.

Yep i use mine on about a 18 mile round trip (mainly dual carriageway with a fecking speed limit of 50mph!!!).
Mine does have a 5th gear from a newage WRX which does make rev lower doing cruising speed.

Yep, I do 40miles a day back roads in the morning and M62 in the evening. I'm also running Cusco coilovers which are rock hard. The ride, the gearing and the lack of sound deadening doesn't bother me either. Get the car bought you won't regret it

I would of thought you need at least 10-15miles each way, to get it warmed up nicely

2.1 Stroker, VF35 & Newage TMIC = 310bhp

Coil-overs, ARB's, Droplinks, Anti-lift kit, braces, Brembos & DS2500's and I took the back country lanes home. In the morning (starting work at 7) clear by-passes and a lot of fun (apart from 2 x run ins with plod )

Only stopped doing that mileage Jan 2013 after using the RA for 2 1/2 years for the travelling. Before that I had a MY95 WRX for 6 1/2 years doing the same journey.

Now I'm not doing the mileage I am carrying out the next round of mods and going for approx 450bhp.

I use my Type R for work now and again for a treat but would get tiresome everyday I reckon, gearing does not suit motorway driving.....neither do the fuel bills! Diesel audi does most of the boring work.

Echo this statement!

My Type R is used for work roughly twice a month as a treat, normally a Friday when I want to get home quick I think the less you use them the more special they feel when you do go out for a blast. Also have a diesel Audi for slogging.

Have longer gearing on mine so a little better as a daily driver and always feels special when the right foot goes down

Up until last year I used my car for the 16 mile round trip daily commute for 8 years in my STI RA. I know its got 4 door rather than your 2 but the school run was much easier

The short gearing is my favourite thing about the car.....I'd hate to lose that on a B road blast. Hence the only sensible option is 2 cars

I think his 600+bhp compensates for the longer gearing.
