Cheers in advance!

Where on earth did you get that from ???

JDM cars either have an aerial mounted on the nearside rear quarter or on the A pillar like UK cars, it depends which model you get

OP.

Find out the full spec and price and we can tell you more about it.

390bhp is a big claim. Not many classics out there running that power so before parting with any cash post up the details here.

Thanks for that clarification matt, still hoping it is jdm haha! i thought 390 was a pretty big claim, its running a TD05 and a fmic as you can see! The guys wanting 2500 for it but apparently thats a slight mates rates deal, he'd probs be after around 2800-3000 for it usually.. I'l find out more asap!

I'd be very surprised if its anywhere near 390bhp at £2500.

TD05 ??? There are a few different variations, 16G, 18G and 20G. The only one (regardless to what others will say) that will run 390 is a 20G.

Find out which exact turbo it has and who mapped it. Im gonna guess its a 16G (standard on many jdm cars) and it hasn't been mapped. If that is the case then walk away.
Also, on the nearside inner wing is a chassis plate. There is a applied model code there starting with GC8......, get that code and the complete spec and post it all here.

Okie dokie, hopefully it is what he says as £2500 will be a good price.

Just be sure to post details here and get some advice before parting with your hard earned.

Good luck

Find out what the model code is from the vin plate in the engine bay - GC8????

Then we'll know exactly what it is.

Have to say it doesn't exactly sound like a well loved example to be honest.

Difficult to know, with a car of that age, what it is, without resorting to the VIN plate.

Mine is a UK car, but it's hard to tell.

All the tells can be changed: seats, rear lights, spoiler, etc etc.

Does it have a rear wash-wipe? That's a dead giveaway for JDM, very few people go as far as to fit one..although I have.

Ditto folding mirrors, although more folk have done those.

Went to see the car today, all of it adds up now haha! Its had a 2.5 Scooby engine conversion with TD05, Upgraded injectors etc etc.. and dyno graphs to probe the 390bhp Its a RA and an import.. Engine has around 10,000 miles on it and the chassis is at 70,000, paintwork and all that is in excellent condition apart from a few expected rough spots! The code for the car is GC8-052514 or GC8D47D, not sure which one as they're both on the plate

Oh and finally, as i said before he claims it needs a new clutch.. not actually a stage 2 one, just something that can handle the power.. any recommendations? Also, could there be anything more serious wrong with it? He said one day the clutch went, but he got it home and now it wont move at all. he said there is no bite at all! Cheers

Well GC8D47D is deffo a wrx ra.

More importantly, what ecu does it have and who mapped it ?
Which 'high end jdm garage' was it ??

New clutch will be roughly £500 fitted.

****, he told me both of those but ive forgotten the ecu is in a little box on the dash with a built in screen that shows pressures etc, no idea if that helps haha! Thats good about the clutch though, do you not need to take the engine out to do the clutch in these or is that a load of **** that people have been telling me? :P
