Toyo Proxes T1R or Falken FK453?
Have the Toyo's on the car at the moment and the fronts will need replacing very soon. Not fantastically impressed with the grip on these when cornering hard on a wet or greasy road.
Always used Falken 452's on my last Scoob and found them a good all round tyre but have no experience of the 453's.
Any recommendations?
Camskill are the cheapest for the Falken's but the cheapest T1r's I can find work out @ £102 per corner.

I'm never buying T1R's for my Spec D ever again.
As you say, not great in the wet, but the walls are no way stiff enough and create less steering response and more body roll - yeah great!
Bridgestone RE070's for me next time.

T1R's don't really suit a Newage, Better on classics IMo due to the weight difference, What size wheels are you using as mentioned above the RE070 is a great tyre but only in 225/45/17 approx £100 from camskill too

RE070 for me all the way.
Bring back the tramlining and sticky / responsive soft rubber any day!
They keep you alert on on your toes with the tramlining - how driving an Impreza should be.
I can see why these were factory fitted, they compliment the new age perfectly.

Just moved to Goodyear F1's from RE070's. Much better than the RE070's for road use IMO.
All depends on what type of performance you're after though.

As said above have read the T1-R's are more suited to the classic something to do with the side walls.
I had then on my newage years ago, were good when new but once they had 1/4 wear on them didn't like them atall.
Vred's on currently and they are absolutely fantastic from day one to wear limiter wet & dry.
On the PFF7's size was 235's.....like I said fantastic tyre.

Looking at those, they don't hum when under load then?
Must say, I took advice from here and got Vred's for my Passat, and they have been very good indeed.
Balanced up a treat.
It's just the walls I worry about, if they really are stronger to illiminate body roll and give good steering response.
I like to feel in full control and that the car does exactly what I ask it to. Unlike T1R's.

I've always wondered, how much difference can you actually detect between two similar tyres? How much of the difference is your old set vs the new rubber, and not the different brand.

AD08s , sticky as re070s , better in the rain and almost no tramlining due to newish design... it all depends on the budget thought. F453s were better than T1Rs , parada spec 2's , re050's .. Got re70's for fast road/track and F452's for road which are ****e compared with the above, oh and Verdies on the shelve , people do say they good , but haven't tried them yet so cant comment...
