Default Which Classic is the Best

As the title goes, I suddenly sat pondering which model is the all round, all time daddy. I appreciate that each model and spec have their differences, but overall there must be one that stands above the rest.

As above.

Not including the above might be a bit trickier.

The one that has had the most money thrown at at.

Personally I don't like the 22b, the wide arches just look like an after thought and a bit odd in the flesh, when sat next my type r (same colour) kev's @ clinic just looked odd to me, the lines just seem wrong, but I would have one.

So for me V3 Type R all day long, it's so right on every level, for me is the essence of subaru and what the impreza was all about.

Sti type-R ver6 Limited. It's the last, most developed and ultimate edition of Classic Impreza.

IMO It beats P1 in every way with its dccd R180 rear diff (P1 has R160) and limited has been also only 1000 ever made.

22b is rare but performance wise it can't beat ver6 Typer

Cough cough S201 (Looks aside)
Most powerfull and best handling out of the box
(based on the ver6 sti with a load of goodies thrown at it)

Forget your lardy 22b's and watered down P1's, this is the daddy classic imho.
After this I would say ver3 or ver6 typeR

I'm no expert so stand to be corrected, cams, dash, possibly turbo and maybe the introduction of abs, there is also something about the V3 being the first actual STI purpose built, but you'll need a nerd to answer that properly.

As far as I'm concerned once the ABS comes into the equation or any driver aids on any car for that matter, then they are no longer a pure drivers car, but as i've said before i'm old school and would prefer it if they had carbs and points too with no ecu, then i'd understand everything about them, but they would probably blow up even more than they do now and use a **** sight more fuel too.

I wish i'd bought a mark 1 Escort before the prices went silly.

Nearly there Ditch, the turbo was changed from a VF23 to a VF24 and ABS was not fitted to any classic running DCCD
