Default Classic emmisions help please

Car failed on mot. Split gaiter and emmisions at fast idle. 1.07 lamda and 0.97 co. I know I have just repaired a hole in the center pipe bjg there's still blowing from the second cat if that's the box behind the center section, would you diagnose that as my emmisions failing or could it be more so? Also what exhaust do u recommend that will pass mot. Been quoted 1000 plus vat for a vortex from turbo back with sports cat and around 700 odd from a jap specialist . I'm based in essex/London and ready to fit today if anyone can help me in the right direction please.. Drink for anyone that wants to help me out here. Thanks

Yeah car is totally standard from import it has the original Subaru exhaust fitted and covered 107000 kilometres Had a hole in centre pipe right near the bend and patched it up with gun gum but inthinknthere may be another spot near the small box thing half way down the exhaust blowing a bit ? I want a new system anyway as the original sounds boring and doesn't compliment the engine at all but also want to know if there's some intake pipes I can check as others have suggested it sounds like the car is a but lean after hearing the emissions readings ??? Also will a sports cat pass mot?

Just buy a second hand 2.5" cat back stainless system off here for circa £200 and then get yourself a sports cat downpipe. Will do exactly what you need with the benifit of passing emissions thanks to the cat. And will all cost less than £400 all in.

I had high co2 on fast idle @ around .9 on my MOT on Monday.
Read that the car must as hot as possible when testing to get the best readings.

I had the emissions tested again when the car was hot after driving for 1 hour & it passed easily.
