Default New scooby owner needs help

Hi all I have just purchased my first subaru a 1995 wrx jap import was wondering which insurance company's do people recommend I know I'm young 20 years old but dont mind paying the premium as its the car I want I'm not a usual boy racer I race a hotrod as a hobby so don't need to drive like a lunatic on streets. My girlfriends dad also has a rb5 which I fell in love with so decided to get a subaru of my own look forward to hearing from people.

Any advise on what I should do before making it my daily driver would be much appreciated

Cheers Jamie

Ask your girlfriends dad if he wants to swop. The RB5 will be cheaper to insure.... if its standard that is.

My Girlfriend is 21 and for a laugh she went on a comparison website to get insured on my P1. Best and only quote was £36,000

Forget the comparison sites, speak to a specialist.
The insurance section on here is worth a look.

Green light are excellent, much cheaper than keith michaels when I got my quotes. The service was also sooo much better from Green light as well, good guys to talk to on the phone.

However I am 25 and I don't know if they will insure you at 20, worth a ring though as most places won't like the fact you are 20.

Welcom

Don't ring Keith Michaels, email them or do an online quote!!!! PM Moley first as once you're on their data base it makes his job a lot harder.

Sky insurance have been excellent with me. I've used them for the last 4 years now and i'm a very happy boy All mods declared.

Try Chris Knott, not sure about your age with them though. But if you don't ask you will never know
Also I thought that Adrian Flux was supposed to be good for young drivers with performance cars. Maybe try them too

None of the specialists will touch you until you hit 25. It's a rule they have.

Just any general insurers for anyone under 25.

Dont go with ecar i am with them they will make you sweat when they say there cancelling your insurance because they never received your proof of licence/no claims and if you are lucky like me to get the insurance should you have an accident or god forbid your pride and joy is nicked they will use every trick in the book to avoid paying. Type ecar reviews into google there are loads of forums/threads slating them. Just a heads up mate be careful i should know ive been through it all

I know - young bucks with no sense.

Plus, an 18year old jap car is gonna need a fair few quid on maintenance too.
