What model are you putting them on? If it's a classic or a blobeye with standard lights, ie: H4 bulbs, I wouldn't bother.
For a start H4 HIDs are crap, and secondly, as noted above, aftermarket HIDs are now an MoT fail.

Echo alcazars comments. I fitted aftermarket HID's to my Classic STi. They lasted about 4 months before I removed them and fitted the Halfraud Super Brilliant bulbs.
Better, cheaper, legal and they actually worked properly.
