Default Sti 6 speed and Brembo conversion, for my 93 Import, so far.

Started with replacing all 4 wheel bearings. Cleaned up the underside with Hydrate 80 and then wax. Engine came out. Did timing belt, fan belt, fixed a leak and had a good look over everything. Bought the brake adapter kit from Godspeed, Yellowstuff pads and new handbrake shoes. Cleaned the discs up a bit, in the lathe. Just sprayed the Brembos in red and about to change all the seals on them. Not wired up the DCCD yet, but not too far off. Driveshafts have had new boots on. We used all the original driveshafts but had to order a pair of stub shafts from Subaru, for the fronts. I have got a few pics below of what has been done so far. Still more to add. Oh and one more thing; the starter motor, on the 6 speed, requires two bolt holes on the block. The EJ20 block doesn't have two, so we had to helicoil the lower hole.

It's a rust protect. It starts blue and dries black. I normally do a couple of coats

I used it as a base, before the wax. Simple to use. Shake the bottle and tip the guesstimated amount that you need, into a small container. You can't put what you haven't used, back in the original container. Don't leave the lid off the original container, as it will go off. It's easy enough to get some and if you need more, tip some more out. If you tip too much out, find something else to coat in Hydrate 80

Oh, and you use a paint brush to apply

It's so difficult to try and only spend a certain amount on it. You could just keep upgrading things, forever lol Any suggestions on coilovers?

Looking good Simon! Looks great when its tidy like that underneath. Know what you mean about the spending tho, spend more time saving for parts than anything else. Cob stuff that hydrate 80. Does it dry hard or rubbery? Is it durable stuff? And what stuff did ya use for the underseal?

It dries plastic like and the wax is called Dinitrol? I think..... and there are two different thicknesses. There is a view from the outside.

You going for DCCD or non DCCD?

I got an STI 6 speed DCCD box.
Gear linkage.
Shorter prop.
Matching rear 160 or 180 diff.
To keep your female front driveshafts, you need to buy a pair of STI axle stubs, two circlips and a left and right seal.

2*Axle Stubs: 38415AA110
2*Circlips: 805329010
1*Left or Right Oil Seal 806730041
1*Left or Right Oil Seal 806730042

Depending on the block, you will need to helicoil the lower bolt hole for the starter motor.

You can use the old starter motor, clutch and clutch slave cylinder.

Think I have got everything there...

If you are going to go for the rear 180 diff, I think you need different hubs....

wow simon car is looking really good looks like new on the underside great work on the conversion, regarding suspension set up the b c coilovers or d2 range are good cost effective solutions but if you want to get serious it gets expensive i.e bilsteins best to give simon at chevron motorsport aka the suspension gods a call

p.s thanks for the mention above

I appreciate the help you gave me, Scott Not started the car yet! Lol Bought some new intercooler pipes, the kit with the solid U bend off the turbo. The old kit kept coming apart, with the boost. Turns out we need to make new mounts as the pipes require the FMIC to be the other way up! Will bring it round, once it is done We blasted the Brembos and sprayed red! Transparent red steel braided brake lines on the way!

One thing, Scott. The rear Brembos came with brackets on. We havent used them, just installed the adapters from Godspeed. Not put the pads in but the calipers dont quite sit in the center. Do I need the old brackets as well or will it be ok when I put the pads in?

I find it amazing that you have spent so much money on reconditioning the calipers and using new pads, but have put the whole lot back together with the used discs?

They look quite worn and not that large?

Just wanted to try them out first. There is plenty of disc left, they are true and I just sharpened the image, so they stand out a bit more. Will upgrade the discs in the future and we did the calipers ourselves, so the cost was minimal!

Braided lines.

New Rims

Still not gone for a suspension upgrade but have rolled the arches, as the tyres would rub slightly on a very bumpy road.
