Default Has anyone ever successfully rotated wheels.......

And not need the fronts rebalancing, dont think i ever have LOL

ive rotated my wheels as ive done about 3 or 4k and will be getting a wheel alignemtn and the fronts had worn a smidge on the outer edge and the rears hadnt, so rotated them all and now get vibration from 50 upto 80 odd.

Now i know the rears wear differently etc but even still, they were balanced when tyres fitted etc but i will give it about 100 miles for the now new fronts to wear properly like a front should and go get them rebalanced

anyone else ever find this or is it just my poor luck LOL

possible you've knocked a weight on the callipers, as wheels are not balanced side dependant if you get what i mean

What....... people still actually rotate their wheels around. lol I've never done this in all the years I've owned cars, especially on a 4WD car.

Yep i certainly do. Probably doubles the mileage i get out of the tyres. I am running s lot of rear camber. Swapping them just helps for a more even wear

As the over guys said, the rears don't do much so all the wear will be on the front, 20k plus on my yok prada 2 and some if that's was with 460bhp

My rears must wear or scuff up oddly then, even tho the wear looks o.k as at 1st the vibration was from 50, now, after 20 or so miles, its from 65 and not as bad LOL, weird, im gonna give it some miles then if still like it get them re-balanced

cheers all

I'm just about to as my Astra produces a strange wear pattern on the rears causing a humming sound - very mush like a worn wheel bearing (bearing have been checked and given the all clear by two garages). I'm hoping rotating them will reduce the noise.

You probably like most people have a preferred side that you corner harder or your blast route has more hard core lefts than rights, or vice versa, which causes a bit of uneven wear.

My Mrs always wears the edge off the front left.
