Default Harvey smith up pipe??

Anyone know anyone who might make these? Or something like them off the shelf?

My up pipes blown, an needs a replacement. It's all been mapped up etc.

I've heard there pretty good, but hard to get hold of. What are the benefits with these pipes?

Thanks in advance

i have thought about doing this to mine when i come to remap it.

You can De-Cat the std pipe but the bore ends up bigger than optimum in most cases. The internal bore of the Harvey pipes is carefully designed to give optimum exhaust gas velocity to the turbo therefore reducing spool.

That's what I've been hearing. I've pm'd AS performance, no reply yet?

I'm looking at a new HKS up pipe at the mo, supposed to be VERY good on reports, synopses proven spool increases. Just a case now of which is cheaper.

Headers and up-pipe made circa 400rpm earlier spool on mine. With a change in up-pipe I'd reccomend a map check as they can make quite a difference!

Mine, with a TD05 20g and a 2.5 in it, is producing 1 bar of boost well under 3000rpm.

Contact Alyn at AS Performance for a price for a Harvey up-pipe. They ARE worth the money, that's why Alyn now sells them instead of allowing the design to disappear after Harvey's untimely death.

spot on - exactly what i noticed on mines when i had the Harvey ported headers and 2 bolt up-pipe fitted.

Car feels/breathes and drives more freely.

there are 3 cats in total i believe (please correct if i am wrong!)

one in the uppipe from headers to turbo (can break up and cause problems)
one in the turbo down pipe
and one in the center section.

as for prices, i have no idea im afraid

I can only echo the comments above, I had a set of Harvey's headers and uppipe put on my car with a vf34 last week and the difference in driveability is night and day. I know some of this will be down to the turbo but it seems an easier car to drive now and a lot smoother when your down the revs.

Depends on the model. Newage sti's and classics (i think) don't have the cat in the uppipe.

Internal diameter on the upipe I got from AS performance was a tad over 46mm, way more than I was expecting.

But, my oem wrx classic up pipe was in 2 pieces, at the flexi. An that part is fixed.

However, I now think I've gota blown turbo. Cos something is really badly blowing from around the turbo area

Could just be one of the gaskets, need to fit new ones if you change anything in that area.

Cool cheers for that bud. Was just wondering how they help spool thats all.
Is that the same diameter then of the turbo inlet and header outlet?

Sort of port matched?

As for it blowing, does it sound like a tractor at all?
Is there any smoke?

Harvey pipe gives better spool from lower down.
Put it with ported headers for the best result.
