Personally I think that's a good idea as it'll save you filling holes if the new one does not have any.

Heres my old car...

(Oh how I miss it)

Being able to refit the spoiler is important. 99% of people prefer the spoiler on so come sale time its definitely worth bolting it back on.
What I did was buy some vinyl wrap in a colour as closely matched to my car as poss. I then used a 10p coin to draw round and cut out seven circles. Once they were stuck over the holes they really disguised it well and at a glance were unnoticeable. Then when you want to re-fit just peel the vinyl off and bobs your uncle.

Sorry are you saying you put pennies in the holes you made and stuck them in?

If so that's an awesome idea.

He used the coins as templates to make small vinyl stickers.

I had the holes in my boot welded up and the boot re-painted. In the 3 years since there are a couple of tiny blemishes visible now so it does need to be a good job with lots of care taken.

This.

To source another boot lid, have it welded up and painted your looking at the best part of £200. My way was just a cheap and easy way to disguise the holes, and worked a treat.

Mines complete standard tho so I'm after either getting original gold wheels painted or new alloys in darker colour and also like the smaller wing mirrors.

Yea very nice that pal. I'm liking that look a lot. I take it you have swapped off for a newer model? How much did it sell for if you don't mind me asking.

That's a surprise as you hardly drove it lol

But what Matt has said with regards to the vinyl stickies, you only really noticed them when you were up very close. A damn good idea and a damn site cheaper then a respray with welding and then the risk of pitting later in time

I also used vinyl patches. you could hardly see them even up close. I got a local company to cut them with the plotter machine but not mask or weed them. Spoiler is back on now though...

I just don't think the lines of a classic suit a spoiler they just look like its perched on the boot. A newage pulls it off better but even then I think a newage looks better without.

Other than looks does it make a difference worth noticing?
Maybe less greedy on the fuel? Lol

Nope. The spoiler is pretty much null and void on a road car anyway so apart from looks its pointless.
