Default Help identify a Cable

Hi All,

Quick question. I am mid way through fitting a Carbon firewall and to clean the area up I have moved the cables from the top of the parcel shelf and moved them under the metal inside the boot area.

Now one of the cables is easy to deal (power to boot light) simply cut the cable and extended it easy! The other cable goes into the rear window on either side and I guess its part of the heated window and aerial? Anyhow I really need to extend this cable to make my master plan work.

The cable seems a little thicker than a normal cable and has AUS-2 written on it (already goggled it with no results) it then goes into the Clarion box that say 12v grounded on it. Any ideas of type of cable I need?

Thanks for any help you can offer

Chris

The clarion part is the aerial amplifier.
Im pretty sure the cable is thicker due to the extra power the rear screen uses

Just PM scott at scoobyspares see if he has one of these cables, plan is to cut the cable and extend it with the same style of cable. Would that work?

Thanks all for the rapid reply!

i would think its just thicker cable than the rest, probably 2mm as opposed to 1mm everywhere else.

aerial wire is usually co-axial (a centre core for the signal and an outer shield)

If it is a co-axial cable can you not use a joiner to extend it?
