scratches to body coloured bumper. Some of them are pretty deep. Does TCut work on the plastics? Do I need to get a "colour-pen" and go over it then TCut???

I have various TCut/"TCut color fast"/some turtlewax thing with a scratch stick.
None of them work even on the really light scratches... Am I doing something wrong?
I tried the idea I read ages ago about going over with a colourpen and then TCutting over the top. However the paint they mixed for my colourcode seems to not be an exact match, its a purpley-er blue.
