Default Power gains

Ok it's time for me to start playing with my scoob

Now I'm looking for somewhere in the region of 300bhp, now I've got a prodrive sports cat, 3" japspeed exhaust system, hrc updated fuel pump and a hks panel filter, just waiting to fit them then its remap time

Now what else will I need to reach 300+ bhp ?

You probs get this on here all the time so I do apologise

Thanks Sam

You won't get 300 on the standard turbo (td04). Probs around 280 or less.

sti tdo5 turbo and sti 550 pink injectors should see around 320 mark and chuck on an sti up pipe just for good measures.

Agree with louisB, that td04 will struggle to reach 300bhp, some I believe have but not very often and depends on the mapper. You will need a vf34,vf35, td05 18g etc, maybe some pink sti 550 injectors and an sti top mount but not vital.

people have been known to get around 300bhp on the std turbo, but the average is about 280bhp, i think you'll struggle to get 300bhp without swapping turbo etc

i've just fitted a VF35, pinks, etc and it was mapped on 95ron fuel and it made 320bhp, could make 340ish on v power

so, if i was you i'd save up and get a turbo (£300), pinks (£100), decat up-pipe (£30), sti top mount (£???), then it's only one fitting cost and one mapping cost

As above, might see 290 if your lucky but more like 270-280 depending on mods and engine health.

My first map on my 54 WRX saw 275 with a cat back exhaust package, green cotton panel filter and decat uppipe. If your looking to go beyond the TD04 then I would suggest saving a few more pounds and getting a bigger turbo and injectors then have it mapped conservatively. Then at least in the future you have the option of a map tweak if you decide you want a little more....which you will Quite a few of us WRX lads are running between 330-400 at the highest with a standard block and gearbox just to give you an idea. Mines at 346...for now

Well noticed there's some pinks on here for £90, so may start planning now, now you've said the range of turbos but what one would you run if it was your car ?

Your get a range of answers but I can't fault my VF34. Hard to come by but worth it. Other options, TD05, VF35, SC36 all good bits of kit.

Vf35's are cheaper and more common , you can pick up one from about £250 but the vf34 about £400+. I saw a vf34 for sale on here last week take a look on the parts for sale section.

The std injectors are 420's, I think they start struggling 300-320bhp

Just think of the mods as a recipe, you need enough air and fuel entering the engine, allowed into the cylinders in specific amounts and correct timings by the mapper, if you haven't got a sufficient amount of either, you won't get the results you want.

The standard injectors in a hawker wrx are 550's not 440's, will be fine for 300. May get away with standard fuel pump.

SC32 might be a possible turbo option, will be silly spool and do the 300

Decat, turbo and remap should see 300, depending on fuel pump.

lol your wife will understand

Newage sti TMIC's are good for 400bhp. Depends if you want to mess about chopping your bumper. You do get better results from a FMIC.

TD04 will do close to 300 and without the need to change injectors.

Dont chase a figure, a properly mapped 04 equipped car is great fun. If money is tight then this is your best option.
