If not, I'd probably go for it until I can afford to forge in the future. Also which turbo does my 2007 WRX Hawk have as standard?

Cheers

The obvious answer is yes. An increased load on the engine could reduce the life of said engine.

But an extra 10% is unlikely to do much harm. My STI went from 265 to 340 bhp with no issues.

P.S. Well there was one issue..... it made me think I wanted even more !

More boost and more torque - both of which may contribute to increased chances of HG failure.

Are there any upgrades I can do to 'protect' it? or is forging the only way? I'm looking for 280 - 300bhp
Thanks

I'm not personally aware of the issues with the WRX and HG issues on the Hawkeye. I know it effected the STI's until Subaru (so I'm led to believe) changed the way the heads were torqued up.

" Apparently " the 2.5 WRX doesn't suffer quite the same way as the STI with the HG/ ringland failures, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that if I were you.

I'd always say, if it's working fine and you can't afford to fix it if it goes **** up then why take the risk, if however you can afford to fix it then go for it.
