Default Help Selling my Classic Impreza

I could do with some help selling my classic impreza. The time has come to part with my classic Impreza as I'm after a blobeye now.

It's a 1997 (R Reg) Turbo 2000 in 230 White with 6 months tax, less than a months MOT, approx 120,000 miles, no service history but folder full of receipts and with the following modifications;

CAR TYPE: MY97 SUBARU IMPREZA T2000 (326BHP)

AUDIO:

WHEELS & TYRES:
17” ROTA GRA’S (White)
PERELLI P7000 TYRES

Cobra Alarm system.

The car is mechanically sound with just a minor leak I noticed last week which is coming from the Power steering pipes somewhere. However, the bodywork needs serious attention. Quite a few minor dents, rust on both rear quarter panels, water leak in passenger side well in the boot, rust around passenger side in boot, replica spoiler cracked in various places, paint chipped around door handles. MOT advisories last year were corrosion present on rear suspension components and corrosion present on floor.

Breaking the car is the obvious choice but not really an option for me so I need to sell it on as it is.

So I'm going to sell it complete but for spares or repair just to cover my **** and wouldn't mind some advice on what you guys feel the car is worth based on what I have said. MOT runs out next month and need to sell it on before it runs out.

Any other advice on selling the car with the mentioned bad points would be much appreciated. I have no intention to mislead the buyer or falsely advertise the car, just need to move it on now so that I can purchase my next impreza.

Many thanks.

My brutal advice would be simply to list on ebay as spares or repair

no reserve and a starting price of 99p - and list the major. " faults" but obviously point it it is drivable etc

The problem is that ANY money you spend on it now is DEAD money

And trying to sell a car with no mot will be a lot harder, and unless you have off road parking, there will come a time where you HAVE to tax and insure it, and for that you need an MOT

So if you are not careful you will be paying someone to take it away

Thanks for the honest feedback, appreciate that. Deffo not spending any more on the car now as I've seen my next car so need to move this on ASAP before MOT expires next month. Just taxed it for 6 months as well.

Mileage is approx 125k and the engine was built and supplied by username WMS on here but I don't have a bill for it.

Matt was the first person I asked for help. Need to try and sell it on as it is. Made my mind up to get a newage and MOT runs out in 3 weeks so don't have time to break it.

Without any proof for the engine build I wouldn't be interested unfortunately.

You need to state a price your after mate, then you might have a little more joy, either that or your asking too much and as matty said you need some proof of the build, as thats where the money is, but tbh if you want to get your money's worth you should be stripping it and transferring the parts to your new car and selling whats not required, i'd rent a garage or ask a mate for some help and space, otherwise you'll struggle to get anything near what it's worth.

I wouldn't give you £800 for it in the condition you state in your add, rust no proof, history and lack of mot are the killers, even with the good spec.

Sorry, good luck what ever you do.

This is not a for sale advert so I don't need to put a price. Just asking for help and advice on how best to sell my car.

I know I'm not in the best position here and know I'm going to take a huge loss. But don't have the time or space to break the car.

Fair enough, but "open to offers" sounds like it's a for sale add to me.

So how exactly are people supposed to help when they have no idea how much your asking, as the biggest stumbling block to selling anything is usually price.

Just finding out the best way to sell it on in the condition it's in. Looking like I might have to break it but will need to pay to store it somewhere whilst i do this which is just going to eat into the total figure.

Found the replacement now so might just put it on Ebay as spares or repairs and see what happens. Unless anyone local to cirencester is willing to let me store it in their garage/lockup so I can break it?

Thanks but no. I'm going to get it washed and take loads of photos of it today and stick it on eBay as spares or repair. If no joy then I will have no choice but to break it:
