Default Spoiler variation

Hello all. Why do some wrx have different spoilers? I can't work out if it's model specific or option at purchase. I have seen plenty bug/blob eye wrx with the more subtle flat spoiler and with the higher sti type spoiler. I'm looking to buy a correct spec wrx but it's proving a little confusing to what that is.

Any tips would be great. Ta

Show us pics and we'll tell you.

There are 100's of copies you can buy + originals from cars that are being broken. It's all down to what you want and what you like. There are plenty of sti owners who have a low level spoiler or have gone spoilerless and vice versa with wrx owners.

Thanks markfey

I wanted to know what was the stock spoiler really. I understand I can change it but I was hoping to work out if what I was buying was right or had been modified.

Cheers

Sounds like you are trying to buy a completely original and untouched WRX, you might want to google SIDC in your quest for these answers

or ebay for original sales brochures

To be honest the oem wheels as pictured above are IMO a poor design / build quality - seen many wheel failures written about

The bigger spoiler, is STi or replica STi and would have been a modification by previous owner as a styling choice.

I get ya, makes sense now. The pictures riiidaa posted are what I have been seeing on what I would consider unfettled cars.

I'm not too fussed about it being changed just needed to know what the stock spec was

Thanks guys, that helps loads.

I think the first one on your list is the best

its the newer "blobeye"
so has more power i think
also larger boonet scoop
also rev counter is in the middle of dash
better seats
not to keen on the after market spoiler
