Hi, we bought it the other day with the problem, apparantly it has had an engine rebuild less than 3 months ago, but the paper work seems very dodgy, the car is lovely and well worth what we paid for it, but think it will be better to just put a replacement engine in as what is there is very strange???
The company dos't even seem to exist when you do a google search for them either.... very confused. we already have a type r but wanted this one as it has the 4 doors, easier with the kids hehe!

What "apparently" was done when they rebuilt it?
If your lookin for a replacement engine then speak with a reputable breakers such as Matt from pole position or Scott at scoobyspares, as mentioned above buying a second/third/fourth etc hand engine your never knowing what your gonna get, especially from eBay.
If your lookin for a tried and tested reliable bottom end then perhaps look at an Sti 7/8 bottom end uk or jdm both hardy units known to take a good bit of spirited driving when looked after correctly, jdm would get my vote

A guy in Essex on the scoobycity forum has a classic WRX long engine for sale. Seems like a good one (but obviously DYOR). Would've had it myself for a project if I'd been allowed...

There is a receipt here for a company called HA Auto Care for £1200 full closed deck engine block, full engine gasket set, reconditioning heads. Would you not think he would have taken it back? It has a misfire and have had it looked at and I'm sure he said number 4 was cracked? I don't want to say its not legit and be slated if it is but something really dosn't add up here? I am waiting for a call back about an engine later today but if not I might try the one in essex, dont want to go spending mega money as still quite a bit to do it as well as this, thanks everyone for info and advice.

Thank you so much for the number, got in touch with them and they did do the build, he said the lad wanted the manifold powder coated and the powder got into the engine and bent the valves so he took him another engine and he put that one in and it was running fine when he left so think the lad must have either pushed it to hard or let it run low on oil, either way a new engine needs to be found, but the dyno reading is definateley fake according to wallace
