wheels altering speedo???

Default wheels altering speedo???

just swapped 16s for 17 inch alloys will this affect the speedo reading in any way thanks as im thinking the 17 will take longer to travel full cicle therfore altering the speedo

It depends, really. Most folk fit tyres of a different profile when using bigger wheels, to keep the "rolling radius" much the same.

When I went from 16" to 17" wheels, for example, the car's rolling radius was only 3% different.

Try to get it so that it OVER reads if possible: less chance of a careless speeding fine

yes that makes sense as the tyres on the 17 s will compensate for the balloon tyre i had before .......

Try this calculator. Fill in original wheel and tyres sizes. Fill in what you are planning to fit. It calculates lots of things including how far out your speedo will be
