Default What would you do

Hi guys,

I have a 2004 Blob WRX on 76000. I intended to spend a grand or two decatting and remapping etc but I don't know a lot about its history and was wondering if it would be wiser to leave standard and save up for the 2.5 Hawk.

I do 11,000 ish a year so I'm also conscious of the miles totting up (like keeping cars under 100k if I can). I'd be going for a Hawk STI and also leave as standard. Is the Hawk engine usually fine if un modded?

Or do you think I should keep the 2ltr blob and upgrade it?
Finally what are the main benefits of an STI over standard WRX

Cheers

They are completly different cars underneath. The £500 a year road tax would steer me away from the hawk for starters. Reliability is not an issue as standard. The 2.5 motor has more torque but probs not that noticeable in standard form. Why not have a look at the late blob sti

I love the way the 2.5 has power at no revs. Any speed any gear just push the throttle and it takes off.

The 2.5 is the reason I'm back in a scoob. As 90% of my driving is town, I rarely get to open it up. So was driving off boost most of the time in my 2.0, the 2.5 the powers just there

Does that mean it canes your fuel more than the 2.0 or is it just better designed/efficient?

According to the mpg calculator I'm getting 28mpg but you don't buy a scoob for fuel economy lol
