Question Sti Type R 2.5 new build.. Will my stock ECU run it?????

New built 2.5 bottom end/nitrided crank, acl bearings and genuine sti pistons/rods, work carried out at scooby clinic, with my v4 heads, vf24 turbo, hks fmic, nurspec R system, walbro 255 fuel pump, everything else is standard.
The engine has been ran in a thousand miles before i got it and its in the process of being fitted.
will my standard 2.0 ECU be fine to run it till i get it mapped?simtek etc....
Any help would be appreciated as i get my car back in a few days and i dont want to break it again as the bottom end went on the 2.0 within weeks of me getting it... gutted

Technically it would start and run but the fueling would be way out and not really ideal to drive it, Unless off boost for mapping day only

I've run mine which is same since August due to not having chance to map it. I know my ecu had a couple of things done to it but couldn't say what other than boost reduced to 0.7 bar. I've just had to be very careful. Got a simtek going in on Friday. Hope this helps and nice car you've got there

Who are you going to get to map it?? Ideally as Scoobyclinic built the engine would be best to get them to map it. Probably best to speak or e-mail them.

The was standard ecu mate. I was advised to run it at no more than 4.5 k for first 1k then after that I've run it a few times to 6k but not many times I've just kept to the 4.5k. Mines getting mapped by Andy on Friday along with 2 others.

The you should be mate just take it steady. Only thing I've got different apart from updated internals is I'm running vf 35 instead of the 24 mate. Will let you know though.

As you're still running the MAF, it will start run and drive just fine, if you stick to the speed limits and don't go above .5 bar it will see you through till you get it mapped.

I ran my 2.5 with standard ecu and larger injectors, it was an ok drive, just stay off boost , dont even try, you can keep up with traffic at 0 PSI until you get the ecu and map.

if you have 440s then expect to push them to 95% lol, might be worth using an FPR to raise the pressure and max the turbo out. On std injectors 320 ish, some do more.
