Default MY2006 GD JDM WRX

Hi,

Have not been in the Subaru world for a while. I have googled but can't seem to find a link for the specs on the car listed in the title. Think it is the Hawkeye generation but no idea what the engine specs are etc.

Thanks.

I am finding it strange that there is not more info about the JDM MY2006 WRX on the web. Back when I had my JDM MY2001 STi7 there were many websites that gave all the specs, comparisons between JDM and non-JDM, STi vs. WRX, etc.

Strange.

Hi there

JDM WRX has come with EJ205(2.0L),regardless if its 01 or 06 model(here in UK/EU or USDM have fitted EJ25)

Spec is very similar to the UK WRX,just every JDM WRX(from Bugeye onwards 01) has have AVCS,not sure but usually JDM WRX has been equipped with 2 pots front and rear slider pots, power wise 250bhp/245lb-ft

This should help there

Yes. it should have the 4 pot front and 2 pot rear brakes.

Basically, 2.0L with AVCS producing 250ps, 333nm, 4.444 final drive with closer ratios as compared to the uk car.

OK great, last question I think how are the 4 pot and 2 pot brakes, comparable at all to the brembos that came stock on my old MY2001 JDM STi7?

Brembo are better and will be better in any condition, although with good pads and discs 4 pots will be enough if you are looking not to track the car

Direct comparison not sure, but many people swapped their OE 4pots for Brembo

The brembos do perform significantly better all around (overall stopping power, fimer feel etc) But as said, if you don't intend to track the car, the 4/2 pots with decent pads and fluid should suffice.
