Default prodrive back box

I've had my 05 wrx a few years now but kept it standard, however I'd like to have a bit more power than the standard 230. I've got a prodrive back box coming on weds to give it that Scooby purh and thinking about getting a 2nd hand prodrive ecu, how much should I expect to pay?

Also will the prodrive back box give me any power gains?

Thanks
al

The Prodrive box won't do much on own. If you want a faster impreza. Will need to remove the restrictions in the exhaust system. If you want 265bhp(prodrive route) decat centre pipe, prodrive backbox(the one your getting already) silicon pipe from intercooler(to take higher boost). Can go a lot further than this, but get some advice first, speak to Race Dynamics(Duncan) on here to map your car. Don't buy a modified ecu your standard one can be modified.Duncan will give the best advice.

Hi ,
That's much appreciated, I'll give him a call to see what he can do. What's the general opinion on the induction kits, do these help massively and are they a worthwhile mod?

Thanks

I've fitted the HKS super power flow induction kit on mine diddnt think it would make a great difference but it actually has improved throttle response a fair bit they claim to add a bit hp aswel thers loads of choice but read some reviews on different ones its personal preference I rekon... Worth looking into tho boss..

Its a personel thing as Smiffy said. My opinon is just stick to the standard air box(and upgrade to a performance filter like "Greens" when you do rest of upgrades as no need before). remember the standard box with car is well designed and good for 380bhp.

I fitted a ppp pack to my old wrx it consisted of a back box, intercooler hose, second cat delete pipe and I purchased a tactrix cable and flashed my ecu with a prodrive map. It cost less than £250 all in and I thought it was a superb conversion for the money. I agree a custom remap may have gained a little with a downpipe but really didn't think the extra cost would have been worth it. The ppp package is tried and tested even though it is a generic map its safe and very good. A second hand ecu would give same result if all ppp parts are fitted but the keys would need programming to the ecu.
