Default Help I'm drowning :(

I've opened my boot after work to find a huge puddle in there is this common on old scoobys? She's a classic 98 turbo is this a simple fix or will my wallet suffer?

Check rear lights, boot seal or spoiler mounting hole, eespecially if a different spoiler has been fitted at any point

More than likely rear lights, remove, and clean off old mastic and reseal using a non setting mastic called carafax

If that's the case then definitely yes, who fitted it? Should have sealed all the boot lid holes when fitting, bet it hasn't!

You know what I always get my work done by the real deal sports car specialists but they couldn't get my car booked in for 3 weeks and me being as impatient as ever took it to my local back street garage ffs lesson learned!

Drill a hole at the lowest point. Water problem solved! Could come in from the spoiler?

Could that not cause rust issues?

There was a puddle in mine, so I drilled a hole, not a huge one though. Not had any rust issues. Would be wise for you to sort the leak out though.

As above, DO NOT seal with any but a NON-Setting mastic.

Carafax, designed for caravan bodies, is about the best out there.

Probably a stupid question but why does it have to be non-setting?

Sooner or later you will need to remove the lights, spoiler etc for repair, repaint, replacement etc.
If you have used silicone, or, worse still, the likes of Tiger-Seal, or Sika-Flex, you will be in a hole.
