Default VIN code help please

Hi folks,

I'm in the process of putting together a definitive guide to the VIN codes for the classic JDM cars. I know there are already a few out there, but most of them are incomplete or inacurate.

I'm most of the way through but would very much appreciate any input from folks on here.

A couple of the more detailed pages are almost complete and feedback on those is also much appreciated.

The guide is here: http://www.type-ra.com/what-model-is-my-impreza/

and the discussion thread is here: http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/...vin-codes.html

All constructive comments/ideas much appreciated.

The click through to see the detailed specs, and then to top it all, the full size clear scan of the JDM brochure is a massive step forward. To have all that info available in one place is simply immense

V5 limited next please.....

The V6 STI wagon limited should be GF8G5ED and 300 horses..........thats what mine is (was). Gearbox and engine codes are correct.

Good work there buddy.
You've missed the wrx type r limited v/5/6
And wagon autos.

V5 wrx type r limited - gc8f27d -
V6 wrx type r limited - gc8g27d

Wagon autos have same code as normal wagon except final letter is P instead of D

Thanks Matty,

The WRX Type R V-Limited is in there, but I've not added the info as yet.

The WRX Type R was only an MY98 car & as it was a non STi it doesn't have a version number

Regarding the wagons: Fair point! I got lazy & didn't add them

I've added the MY99 WRX Type RA Limited today

Thanks again for the input

Yep aware they didn't have version numbers buddy, just said it as its just easier.

The wrx type r limited were available as f and g series though. Codes were gc8f27d and gc8g27d I believe.

If you have genuine proof of this I'll happily add them to the guide

The whole point of this is to remove doubt & hearsay.

Hopefully someone on here has had or has one and sees the thread to confirm my thoughts. Understand you can't add cars without genuine proof.

No probs,

Everything on there is from genuine info from Subaru Japan.

All the images are scanned from the JDM brochure for the car. I've managed to translate much of the info & will add that as & when.

You can be sure that if it's on there it will be accurate info, unless I **** up with copy/paste.

HTH

I've added the V6 STi Type R Limited info now as well as documenting the OEM equipment on the cars starting with the factory fitted Impreza seats
I'd appreciate any input with genuine/documented info which will help the guide.

Cheers all

Bumping this as I've added the info for the MY98 WRX Type R V-Limited but I don't have 100% confirmation of the standard ECU code.

Any owners who can help?

Thanks
