inspiration and advice
not long sold my r33 gtr with 420bhp. I took a jdm sti hawkeye as px but put it on pistonheads as I was looking for something rwd.
Ive since had a few spirited <bollocks to that> fast b road days out with similar minded friends and I must say Im begining to get a good feel for the car now and the tuning bug is begining to get a grip on me again.
The car is running 350bhp right now. Lets just say I decided to keep the car and to go for 450bhp, what would your recommendations be?
current spec
miltek down pipe
spec c exhaust no cats
tmic
been mapped but not sure who by
new exeddy clutch
twin scroll turbo but not sure which model vf37 ?
cheers

I think we've all seen your add on PH and just wished we had the money!!!
I think first thing first is to get to your ECU and get the serial number from it and try and speak to the mapper. He may recall your car and what was done, needed to be done or even suffered with.
Once that is done the list will be endless.

I had a GTR 33, i really don't miss it unless the road is straight, warm and dry
The mapper, if he remembers your car will be able to tell you when and where it was mapped and possibly to what result.
If it was done recently he may be able to tell you things such as the injectors/turbo/fuel pump etc were at full capacity and that will give you a good idea of what to modify next.
I forgot to mention earlier. Find a well known and respected specialist and take it to them for a really good service. It's amazing the horror stories we continue to hear on a daily basis about what owners and previous owners have done to their cars.

cheers. It runs very smooth and has good power delivery at 3000rpm but could be better imo
serviced as soon as I got it, full fluid change as well. I would be changing the fuel pump and injectors anyway purely for piece of mind.
water pump and cambelt etc getting done next week

Hi there
Personally I would contact few Subaru specialist in your area and from this I would go and decide what to do next
But if you are looking at 450bhp:
Turbo: you have Twin scroll turbo which means you will need TS turbo like SC42 TS or SC46 TS,MDX321T TS,LM 450
Injectors: 650cc or 750cc Top feed injectors
Fuel pump: if you are still running Spec C fuel pump, this should be OK,but for piece of mind have look on other options like HRC,RCM or genuine Walbro etc
Not sure on clutch what are you running, but speak with Alyn@AS Performance about the ACT,AP,Exedy or other options
If you are looking to upping the bhp, have look too on the brakes and suspension, you can have big power, but without the control is pointless to upping the bhp
Hope this help
