time to move on - maybe
dilema time, do i sell my scooby? i am looking at a 335d m sport beamer. anyone got experience of one of these. i have heard a lot of good things about them - but will it put a silly grin on my face when i drive it like the scooby does?
Stupid smile on your face... No!
However, great car, really comfy and handles. You might get a massive smile on your face when you work out your MPG or when your doing 50 on the motorway and floor it.
IMO you'll end up missing the scoob and go back, you might even get a better model on return and appreciate it even more...

My pal is a BMW fan through and through. Had many models including new X5, M3's and diesel 3 series.
He bought a new 335D msport early last year and had it mapped straight away at benston motors. We then took it over to zen and got it on the rollers, it made 306bhp and a ridiculous amount of torque.
Was lovely inside, looked good and went like stink. But, it just didn't do it for him. He subsequently sold it after a few months and went back to a E46 M3 which he still has. And even though the M3 doesn't feel as quick it actually is, and also sounds much better.
In summary, 335 is a great car. Could quite comfortabley drive it from one end of the County to the other and still feel fresh. Its fast, great on diesel and full of toys. Will it put a huge adrenaline pumped grin on your face,,,,, not a chance.

Sold a my57 330D last year and have regretted it ever since tbh so now looking at buying another. They are so easy to drive especially the automatic like we had, the torque is instant and makes daily driving a joy especially long trips. As for replacing the scoob, it all depends on how you drive you Impreza ie- in the bends or sheer hooning- then no it won't replace it. But if you want a more grown up and sedate car that doesn't stand out then the BMW is a very good choice.
I am lucky in the fact that the P1 is a 3rd car but had it not been I wouldn't hesitate replacing it with a diesel BMW
