Default o2 price rises, robbing t***s

So, o2 are putting up the contract prices mid contract on their phones, I have phone rage today so have spent all day arguing with them about it.

Cancelled my contract and will see them in court about the 290quid cancellation fee they want i think!

Been trying to explain to them about fair contracts and how a price alteration is altering the terms and conditions of my contract and i have 30 days to either accept or reject the new terms and conditions, and if i reject them i walk away scott free as they are the ones altering the contract.

Its a joke how everything is in their favour and the consumer gets left with an unfair contract with no way out...

I might drive up there and shove my phone up someones **** before long!

Has anyone else successfully argued against them?

Rant over!

All of this would of been in the small print when you signed the contract (They can change your price plan, you will have to pay a cancellation fee etc) So I dont see how you have a leg to stand on in court really??

Yes, it might be in the contract but it is an unfair term. To alter a term in the contract (in this case the price) they are altering the terms and conditions of the contract and therefore you have to have an option, they cant just hike the price and the consumer has no way out of it.

It's a rate of inflation rise and nothing more, considering they have not put the prices up for about 4 years compared to other mobile phone operators it's not bad.

If you read the t&c's you will see rate of inflation rises are allowed.

Pretty much every set of contract terms & conditions nowadays has a clause within which states that the contract terms can be changed....completely defeats the purpose of a 'contract' IMO but that's this country all over ain't it...bloody joke!

Tony, im not debating wether it is in the T+Cs, the fact of the matter is it is an unfair clause if price hikes can be implemented and there is no get out for the consumer.

It is an unfair contract and will not stand up in court, You can write what you like in a contract it doesnt nessecarily make it legal or correct

Hmmmmmm.

I'd not go near them now, nor would either of my two lads.

Seen Been doesn't come cheap, y'know, they have to pay him somehow.
