Default Air induction advice needed.

I have a V4 Sti 1997 Import.

I'm having one of Aztec's new FMIC tube and fin fitted.

The car is currently unmapped but hopefully once it's all fitted one of the well known mappers will be fitting an ESL daughterboard.

My dilema - What do i do?

I will be going mafless once the map goes in. I need an airfilter that fits on to the existing Maf but then i'll need a maf replacement pipe.

I've done hours of searching but i'm on a change over year so most places are saying 92-96 and 98 - 00.

Where do i get one from and which kit do i buy? It seems that during my research 90% of people are pointing towards K&N which has proven the best results. The plus side of this is they also seem to be coming in at the cheapest

The following has also been recommended - I would also recommend getting a 1.5metre length of 3" flexi pipe to use as a cold air feed from the front bumper to the air filter. Any ideas where to get this from?

Thanks in advance all, please feel free to PM me if you have anything for sell. I've included a not so recent pic of my engine bay just in case you're looking for the lay out.

I've searched and contacted all the breakers and also put a thread up in the wanted section. Unfortunately i think i'm now going to have to buy new

Do yourself a favour and replace all the intake tract from the filter to the turbo, you will get good results under mapping from this upgrade, and as for the filter/induction kit, apexi if you have a maf,K&N if your running mafless.

Something like this for the filter, pocket depth depending;

IIRC you can use the MAF for monitoring inlet temp when running MAF less?

Thanks all.

Some handy advice!!! I've managed to buy a used rcm k&n with maf bracket for the few weeks I'll still have a maf which I'm happy about.

The bad news is for the mafless set up, samco hose, rcm trumpet and k&n filter for trumpet, it well over £200.

Once again your help is truly appreciated!!!

Anyone else with any links please feel free to post

As people suggest get RCM big cone, sometimes you can find good bargain here or elsewhere.Try contact few breakers if they don't have for sale

Or you can try make your own one via Opie Oils

About the brake duct hose, just search via Google, there are few options
