two rolls of 2in will do the job. The undertray will phisically fit on with the headers. There very very close. I had to remove mine as it started to melt

Wrapped mine at weekend. Used stainless lock wire too. Took near enough a whole roll of wire do do my oem headers, uppipe and prodrive downpipe. Allow a good few hours and wear some good thick latex gloves if using lockwire to try and save your hands.

Dampening the wrap will make it more pliable bit don't saturate it as it has a detrimental effect. also as it dries it will shrink slightly so giving a tighter fit

Cheers for the replys lads I've used the awfull stuff before itches like mad Ill use the water idea though so do I soke it or not ?

Wiley it looks like I might need a bit more I want to try and wrap each tube separate I think this might work better maybe I'm wrong maybe 50ft will be enough I suppose I could always start with 50ft does the colour play a part or is it for aesthetic purpose only

color is just for show, but does look the business
be sure to see how much room there is between the headers and the u frame on the chassis. mine had to be cut, so the headers would clear when its hot (can expand up to 10mm)

My advice would be hunt out a post by a bloke called harvey (sadly no longer with us) .... its either on here or 22b.com, cant remember, but he was a complete legend, down to earth and extremey helpful! I bought bits from him and have used (and heard of big name garages), using his how to thread as the standard!

Think the jist is that you shouldnt get it too wet, ideally just spray lightly as you go, or it gets too tight when it dries out and doesnt last the time. Get some lockwre pliers and stick a tie round every 2-3 inches or so as you wrap themup from cylinders to collector.

Also (wiley, not knocking your work), but ideally you want to wrap each branch individually up to the collector as it manages the heat in the manifold better. It takes a bitmore time but not difficult.

The up pipe is harvey wrapped and i copied it on the manifold! In the pic theres not enough lockwire ties as i was running short of wire(did later), so bung on easily twice as much.

P.S. most important bit, buy good wrap! scrimping will save a few quid but in the long run it'll make a few years difference!

Speak to Alyn at ASperformance, he'll see you right.

I've sat and watched Harvey do wrapping as we talked, he reckoned to use the stitching in the DEI stuff as an overlap marker and always put the wires so that they were ALSO over the overlap, if you see what I mean.

He said not to soak it, but just use a mister to spray it, or briefly splash it under a softly running tap.
