Default Tracking Issues

Hey ppl

I have to say I made a misrake today that I wish I had never made but you live and learn eh....

Im going on a 600 mile plus drive over xmas and thought id pop to a local garage (Motosave) for a quick tracking set up as the car had started to pull slightly to the right. When I say only just I mean most ppl wouldnt bother doing it.

Anyway I explain im quite fussy an need it bang on, The guy spends 1hr fukin about on it takes for test and has another go the comes over 1hr 25mins later all done sir.

This is while I notice another (fitter) fit a spring nsf he used a axlestand didnt use right point and put it over a fuel pipe and bust it, to then blame ware and tear and get customer to pay for repair.

Anyway I pay drive off an realise straight away the tracking is now way out, I get home give em a call and they said I could take it back which I do. Again guy spends 25 mins adjusting it and comes back thumbs up, I get in drive a miles or so down the road for it to be even worse than before (im taking having to have the wheel at about 10 to 12 to keep the car straight so way way off !!!

I go back and ask the fitter could he come for a ride so I can show him for his boss to come out and ask what the prob is, I explain the above and im not so happy as I dont want tyres fckt, he said nothing is wrong with fitter or equipment an nothing he can do so I ask him to drive my car and he declines saying he doesnt have to he wont. At this point im wanting to get sereiously mad so I ask what his advice is and he said pay for a full geo set up somewhere else...... I was at this point wanting to kick his head off ! He said I must have a prob with my car as his gauges are right and its my car at fault. Mad is an understantement.

I get a refund and leave fuming with tracking fckt !!!

I still have to do the 600 mile trip but now will be minus x 2 front tyres as they have royally fckt the tracking.

Gona get in touch with there H/O after xmas and see what can be done but I have just never felt such bad service in my life. When I asked him to drive it he just said "no I wont I dont have to" Fool of a man !!!

What would ya do ??

i would first report them to trading standards and then write a letter to H/O.
Tbh its not even a hard job to complete but i suppose some people are fitters and others are mechanics.

I know it's no comfort to say this after the event, but you really need to research and find wheel alignment specialists for your specific area. Doing wheel alignment properly is not something every place can do, even if they have the right equipment!

+1 on the above, do need to research who you are going to use.
When I got my STi I went to the same place that I have used for 10 years to have it checked and was spot on and they did not charge for the check.

sound like a bunch of tossers, took my car (not a scoob anymore) for its tracking done, went to a different place than i usually do as it was closer and i was a bit pushed for time, after an hour fitter comes and says we cant do it as one side was siezed up, they could eventually do it if i left the car with them for a full morning, anyway took the car away with a business card that went right in the bin, took it where i usually go went to loosen the seized side said it was seized as well, got the blow torch out all free and unseized and tracked within 25 minutes,

i will never be going anywhere else from now on

TBH, and it sounds unfair to say so, you bought into the problem taking your car to Motosave.

They are a general repair place, NOT specialists, and I wouldn't let them near my car......
