you think they would understand you need a map tweak to get the most out of one if you did go down that route....Although saying that, based on manufacturers claims, they have definitely myth busted that one!

I don't think many people maps their cars when doing air filters as it's not needed. I'm sure if they were using a scooby they would have. Would of been a 2 day video though.

It was a bit like those comparison tests done by Fifth Gear on octane boosters and fuel grades!
Interestingly, I did a turbo change recently along with the necessary re-map. The cone filter was the one supplied by Japspeed with the FMIC kit. These are cheap and cheerful items available on Ebay for a few quid. I aquired an unused Roger Clark induction kit (rather more expensive!) and fitted this along with a map tweek (same mapper - JGM at Surrey RR) He found that he needed to add more fuel through the range but the headline bhp was only marginally up! However, the mid range was better and the torque was up by around 10lbft So, in reality, there were benefits just where you want them and headline bhp figures mean little (other than in the pub?)
I just wonder what torque differences there were and, as you say, what a map tweek would have shown? Pity these options wern't even mentioned - or am I asking too much?
