I've losing faith at the moment but it's cos I'm skint and everything on the car is turning out to be shagged. But I'll get back into it after crimbo. When the money starts coming in again mines gunna take a good 18 months yet I reckon. Be worth it in the end

It will be worth it mate stuck with it, I nearly threw the towl in many a time , not through loosing interest but money was an issue but putting so much into it would have bee stupid not to continue.
You'll get there in the end stick with it mate or you'll regret not completing it.

been there done that lost all interest and heart in my type r when i couldn't get it to run right even much so it was up for breaking at one point but then i thought to my self what am i doing, pulled my finger out sorted it had a bit of fun and now its back to the start for a sort of refit stripped back to a shell so a project never ends as there is always something new to try thats the problem

As above never finished, Trouble is I start with good intentions of doing one thing on the car then end up doing something else that takes less time then I end up with bugger all done. Ive got a huge pile of bits sat ready to go on. But it's not happened now until after new year

Mine was off the road for 3 years while I built it.
First year of that I did nothing as I hated the car and the memories attached to it with a broken friendship.
She's now been back on the road over a year since I completed that stage of her build but agree 100% that these cars are never finished.
It's a love/hate relationship I've had for over 8 years. And even though she's up for sale I don't know if I actually want to sell her.
lol

Yours was an epic build mate, probably the best Subaru I have ever seen in every aspect. I'd never wanna sell it! Just save up for something else as well as that. :P

Thanks mate.
Trouble is, everyone tell you to keep it when they don't own it.
When you're the person who owns and lives with it it's a different aspect. I've no reason to sell other than I'm a huge petrol head that wants to try other cars. In order to try out other stuff I would need to let her go.

Started 3 years ago. Stripped my RB5 with a plan to make a track car it's still on axel stands yet. I then bought a 2 door shell and sold that. I then had a white V2 sti writhing lots of tasty bits. I have since broken this car and all the good bits I have are getting fitted to a P1 I bought with an engine issue.
I had lost motivation but due to a very close friend taking his own life last week it has spurred me on to get my finger out and finish the car so I have bought pretty much everything I need to do the car

Everyone I know who has done a big project build including myself always decide at one point or another they have had enough and want to sell up. Its part of the frustration of spending loads of money and still not having anything to drive.
I get sick to death of driving my van when I have a nice car.

Small world indeed! I may bob down after Christmas when I got some pennies to spend on coilovers.
I know what you mean frayz. Id like to do an old e30 m3 with a v10 m5 engine. There's a couple of them conversions done in Germany

I suppose unless you do things like this every day as a job on someone elses car your always going to lose interest unless you have the time and money to do your own

After almost a year all I've managed to do is strip the block and buy the pistons and rods I need. Ok so I now have the car to put it in but still it's hard to keep the enthusiasm. Watching other projects like prodriverrules come together is inspiring and keeps you focused. Xmas will never help as you have to put everything on hold for 2-3 months until the new year begins.
