Check your insurance certificate mate, don't presume you have it just because your fully comp. You could still get it if your TPF&T with some companies. Its mainly age dependant that you get it which is over 25.

Ive never heard of companies doing it for under 25's, not recently anyway.
Remember that the other car must be insured by someone else too.

Years ago (when I was just a wee lad) I bought a fiat cinqwecento thing for £50. Insured it fully comp for about £400 and put my evo 1 onto my dads trade policy. At the time (going back over 10 years) it allowed me to drive the evo third party. This only lasted a year as at renewel time the insurance company informed me that they were raising the age to 25. So I was left with no choice but to insure it myself, £2500

Id be a bit careful and definitely call them and confirm. Lets say your rich uncle had a veyron, very much doubt they would cover you then. Its usually for emergency use only, well it used to be anyway.

LOL would love to see the uncles face if he lent a veyron out to his cousin and he wasnt on the policy

remeber 3rd party is excatly that your insurance will pay damages to other party if your at fault

so if little vinny (is now this cousin) crashed the veyron into doris they pay doris and no insurance will pay out on the car so 1millon pound down the drain

Yep I understand its only third party but I very much doubt an insurance company would even cover third party if a yound inexperienced lad was driving a car capable of 250mph. Imagine the damage that could be caused in a car of that power. The company would have a get out clause somewhere.

I would also check the other persons insurance who will be insuring the car, as a lot of companies state on their policies that they will not cover that persons car for under 25s unless they are a named driver i.e if you are looking to drive a car third party they would not cover you. I paid extra with Bell a few years a go only to find out I couldn't drive my dads car, or my mates, which I wanted to do every now and again.

Also, not looking to start a different debate, but wouldn't what you are doing technically be a type a fruad?......driving a car that is stated to be someone else's but in actual fact it's yours that you will be driving around in the majority of time and not insured by you for financial gain?.....not trying to sound like t**t but just worth thinking about....

As the above person said, I would be considering a different car or a complete swap of insurance companies.

To be covered on another car third party in this way the car must be owned and fully insured by another person.

Remember that Driving Others Cars Cover (DOC) is really only for emergency use.. although the definition of that is itself a grey area.

LOL, I curiously wanted to know how much my boy would cost to add to my insurance. Car is an STi6 wagon, costs me just under 500 to insure myself, phoned them up and they wanted 28k (yes, twenty eight thousand) to add a 19 year old with 1 years no claims!

I'd rather put a deposit on a house for him!!
