Default I/C Spray Switch

In a vain attempt to replace my dead I/C Spray and Fog light switch bulbs, my I/C spray button isn't working anymore.

I took off the lower dash section and started by disconnecting the I/C spray button connector. Once I reconnected, it now won't work. I did accidently press the spray button a few times whilst working on it. I've checked both the fuses for the button and the pump, No's 04 and 13, respectively.

Is there the possibility that I burnt out the pump or the switch?

I realise now that I should have disconnected the battery before working on this area. Is it really necessary to disconnect the battery anyway?
