I sprayed two relatively simple fog covers, made a real effort to get a few good coats on. They don't look that great, but the quality gets lost in the front end. Not sure sill covers would be so easy.
Just my opinion.

Just take them off and drop them off at a private bodyshop, take 1 hour tops (if they aren't damaged) make sure they are nice and clean and scotched up. Pay in cash. Won't cost much, I would do them for you if you was closer, they can fit them between another job or in lunch.

Ye many times. Spray several coats, allow each coat to dry. You can finish of the paint after it has dried with some G3

Ye rub the panel down, apply some plastic primer, once dry give it some 1800>2000 wet & dry, then degrease & spray away.

you will need a fair few cans of paint though, probably not much more for a bodyshop to paint it and finish will be better

We would have quoted about £35-45 cash price for two skirts and two spats, will cost you you a fair bit to get the rattle cans made in the right colour, you will need plastic primer, adhesion promoter, wet and dry. Can of clean coat, compound, some sort of heater to dry the paint and clear coat. 1k clear coat will also be prone to etching, and you need to becarefull when using tar remover as it will soften the clear coat.

sprayed my hockeysticks, spolier and bonnt scoop with rattle cans, its takes a bit of practice and a decent amount of time to get the kind of finish you want, and wouldnt recommend if you dont have a great deal of confidence with a spray can.

the way i went about it is to wet sand first untill u have all the grain out of the side skirts, then prime with a good quality high build plastic primer, then sand that till perfectly smooth then apply base coat (colour) allow atleast 48hrs to dry then dont sand base coat or you will probably see the swirl marks from sanding, then apply clear coat give it a couple of weeks to harded then again use 1800-2000 grade wet and dry paper with plenty of water untill clear coat is perfectly smooth (take your time here or u will sand through the clear), it will look matt at this point, then use a good quality new paint polish to bring it to a high shine.

like i said takes a while but deffinatley worth it, as long as you take your time u cant tell the difference between your work and the factory paint job. word of warning tho i wouldnt advise spraying large areas like bonnets, as the pressure needed is just not obtainable from rattle cans to get an even finish.

oh yea and your will need a 2k spraying mask so you dont go and give yourself cancer :s
hope this helps

oh and one more thing spraying at this time of year is something i would not advise unless you have a heated garage with the correct ventilation for spraying
