Default WRX PPP upgrade

Any WReXers here that have added the pro drive performance pack? Just wanted to know what you think, also are there plenty of places that will still perform this upgrade (parts and fitting)?

Cheers

Mike

It's a total waste of money once the cars out of warranty, better off doing a few mods yourself and then getting a custom remap.

Mine made 287BHP with the following:-

Decat up pipe
Prodrive Sports Cat downpipe
Decat Centre pipe
Samco Intercooler Hoses
TSL Panel Filter

+ Custom EcuTek remap by Andy Forrest.

Car ran sweet as a nut for 4 years until I traded her last month.
It was also the same colour and model as yours.

Only worthwhile when they were fitted from new to keep manufacturers warrantee. If you are thinking of fitting now on your blob there are cheaper ways to get more BHP.
I'm sure others will be along shortly to tell you the same.

As above really, I have it on mine and the performance is great but I didnt pay for it, the previous owner did, personally I would have done stage 1 mods plus a remap.

Thanks guys, so I'd be better buying all the parts (such as Normal mentioned) and getting some one to fit them and do a remap?

Depends on the model. Some just have a cat in the down pipe, some in the down pipe and up pipe and some in the down pipe, up pipe and centre pipe.

I could be wrong so will stand corrected by the more experienced but, I think removing the up-pipe cat is slightly more involved in it effects the spooling up and boost targets. You may need to tal;k to a tuner or mapper about the best options for your car.

argh lol.

ok i know i need to remove the up pipe cat. as mapper suggests that. (andyf's website)(can just use an sti up pipe) as sti does not have a up pipe cat.

Did not know there was a down pipe cat as i gathered a de-cat exhaust was removing the cat i needed gone lol.

like the thread starter am just looking to see what needs done before a remap.

but worked out most stuff i need to buy/sort. just the cat's where confusing me as i know so far ive only got a de-cat exhaust fitted (3")

Think this is the best i can do, so going by what you saying is, replace the 1st cat with a sti pipe, the remove the 2nd cat with a decat pipe, the 3rd you say is already removed

^...../ turbo\
^..../..........\-------Downpipe
^..Cat........Cat
^../..............\ _ _ _ _ _cat_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ silencer _ _ _ _ _ _ Back box
