2k idle, ive tried everything, please help!!

Default 2k idle, ive tried everything, please help!!

hi ive got a 2001 uk300 running maf-less

my idle is arround 2k and sometimes hunts from 1k-2k...

i had a cel that was for the icv...

what ive done upto now....

replaced the icv
replaced the tps
checked for air leaks
disconected the lambda
disconected the nps
put a secondery earth on the block

nothing changes the problem.

im pulling my hear out with it,, any help would be greatly apriciated....

is it mapped? i had the same syptoms with my 92wrx with simtek and need the map sorting at idle.

yes it is mapped, but its been fine for months.... just happened yesterday.

You could have moved the TPS position when you changed it. Have you tried adjusting it?

Had this on mine. was it a new icv? sounds like its stuck from carbon build up. Remove it and fill the inside of it with brake fluid over night. This will eat the carbon away. Clean with some carb cleaner in the morning and check the slider can move pretty easily and refit

Hi,

for any engine to rev its getting air in after the closed throttle butterfly which usually is the idle speed control valve open.

They do carbon up as stated, we strip them off and ply them with WD40 or equivalent then stick them on a cordless drill and spin them up, soon clears them up, before refitting wash it out with brake cleaner as also stated above but be careful when re fitting as it opens up coolant chambers and you do not want coolant getting down into the inlet manifold.
