Default Newbie Advice

Hi everyone

not sure if this is the right section or not but I am currently looking at a WRX on a "Y" Reg with 88k on the clock.

It is totally standard but I would like to know what sort of things to look out for etc... I am quite handy when it comes to cars and know a litle on what to look out for but obviously have no idea on Subaru's at the minute

I currently have a focus Rs but I am looking to restore that over the next few months and have always had a soft spot for the Scooby

Any help will be appreiciated

Thanks in advance

I take its a newage bugeye your looking at?

Apart from the obvious checks you should do, check for any noise coming from the rear suspension as this will indicate the rear shocks and buggered. best way is to have a mate in the back and listen out for banging, clunking sounds on a test drive. Also see if its had any wheel bearing changed as its now getting to the point where they want changed. Check to see if its been serviced regularly and what age the last owner was.
Also the cambelt should be due at 100k. Bugeyes should be done every 50k or every 5years.
