As an electronics engineer I can add the following.

The internal picture shows a single CMOS or TTL 16 pin chip of the type used in circuits in the 1980's.

There are only two wires from the circuit board which would have been V+ and V- ( the power supply lines)
There are no other components on the correct side of the stripboard, nor any other signal input and output wires.

This means the chip is actually doing nothing electronically.

The two wires out can only be from a resistor or resistor chain to be connected inline somewhere.

Some people's heads must zip up the back!

If i were him i'd take it to The Dragons Den.

This has the potential to change the world, maybe power stations could hook it up into their systems to get extra elecricity for free.

As quoted on there,

You know what the saddest thing is?
Some people will believe this and nothing you, or I, could say would make them NOT believe it.

They would fit it to their car and be able to FEEL the extra power........gullible doesn't even start to describe some folk.

The seller should have added this to his auction "As supplied to the Prodrive, Subaru world rally team", he wouldn't have been able to make them quick enough in his garden to keep up with the demand.

A little extra **** and bull wouldn't have done any harm to his listing for extra comedy value.

That reminds me of thoses 'RF Manipulators' a few years ago on ebay, meant to empty fruit machines. They were, in reality, car alarm fobs.

While there are mugs that believe in the something for nothing principle, there will always be a market for $hite like this.
