Default Quick spoiling 500bhp turbo???

Just blow my 20g up on my fully forged etc classic shape. Ready for the next level on it so wondering where to go. Anybody got any advice for a quick spoiling high boosting turbo without going rotated turbo kit to achieve 500bhp.

Welcome

Are you looking at around the same 380-400bhp level as the 20G you had?
If you want more then you need to list what you already have had done on the car, a 500bhp car is far more expensive than a 400bhp one to build properly.
If you want a 400bhp turbo (and a remap to go with it), look at the MD321 Billet turbo's, they seem to be top choice (along with the SC series).
Neither are cheap though.

Thanks for the fast reply. Defo not same power as 20g. Well spec is lol engine wise, v6 open deck, mahle pistons, manley rods, sti 9 nitrated crank, acl bearings, arp head bolts, rcm 4.5kg flywheel, exceedy organic clutch, rcm 12mm oil pump, fueling- 900cc injectors, walbro 255lph pump, massive front mount cooler with big rcm filter, rcm equal headers plus up pipe. 20G turbo, rcm open neck decat down pipe, hks rear back box, big radiator, fully hosed, im sure there is more lol. Mapped by race dynamics on esl daughter board @392bhp. Oh 3 bar map sensor. So we need bigger turbo lol this build im not rotating the turbo as its an open deck so no point. So what u think is a good choice an not to laggy

UK spec 5 speed or 6 speed ???

6 speed is the way forward IMO when aiming for 450bhp plus, but a PPG box is also another option if your not planning on going above 500ish.
But, for what a PPG box costs and what a 6 speed now costs its a no brainier, 6 speed every time.

I'd recommend a JDM 6 speed. I'm looking at this level of turbo too & am considering an SC42 for quick spool as these have gone over 500 on a Meth mix. My second choice is a MDX321T which will make more power but may be more laggy.

I'm not sure 500 on an open deck is a good idea anyway?

You'll need a md321v or sc54 really and without AVCS it'll be laggy as hell.

Add to that a 6 speed box and clutch.

turbo u could go for the 30/76r 6 speed box is best but that depends on ya budget,if money is no problem ppg but wouldnt use ppg if ya using the car as an everyday car,are u on a maf less set up? if ya still got maf air flow meter then why not try changing ya ecu to something like a link, gets rid of air flow and as a 5 bar map sensor built in,if ya need a gearbox try andy @ scoobyspares in fleetwood,

500bhp isn't an issue on an ODB 2 litre, plenty have been there and lived to tell the tale long afterwards.
What the op could do is run a 450+ turbo on meth to achieve the 500bhp.
That'll make it less laggy than running a 500bhp turbo on VPower.

I'd go with a billet MD321T and 20% meth. Probably wont get you quite to 500 but will be bloody close and perform really well.

Again thanks for the replys, iv got an esl daughter board an my standard ecu, im liking and thinking about a meth mix to keep turbo size smaller, im not going to say money is no object cus i aint no shake of arabia lol but my cars get most our money lol. This car an this build is dedicated play toy, iv got my tommy kiara classic for road use an my type r build for track. Im planning on doing gymkhana next year in this perticular car/build so high revs big smoke lots of spinning wheels lol. Iv been reading about the garret gt2876r or the gtx range maybe smaller like gt2817r and a meth mix may give results looking for but less bhp but more torque. I think around 2 grand for a 6 speed is exceptable considering what gets spent anyway lol so ill blow this box up an then conversion. Anybody running either of theses turbos???

Hi,

has no one seen our turbo thread in trader announcements, the SC billet turbos have been trail blazing the turbo scene, since 2009.

We have changed the aero throughout their development and have the best spooling and power delivering turbos on the market today, priced reasonably and in stock.

They are also a direct fit, no chopping liumps of block or bellhousing out to shoe horn them in, they fit perfedctly.

Take a look here.

https://www.scoobynet.com/trader-ann...an-better.html

Its a long read but the l;ast half a dozen or so pages will get you up to speed.

cheers
Kev

Hi there

We are run on ODB(Open Deck Block) 490bhp and as our engine builder(Neil@Slowboy Racing) said, can be pushed up to 550bhp

About the quickest spooling 500bhp,MDX321T/SC42 will be great option,we are run,but probably for quicker spool you will probably need AVCS and Twin scroll

GTX2876r or GTX2871r not sure, seen them few of them on Subaru and results has been disappointment

Ok thanks for that, i no ducans time attack car is open deck and 550bhp so yer seems a consistent safe figure for an open deck block., so id be happy with your figure on a meth mix as i bet that spoils pritty well an holds high boosts well.

With the gt30/35 do you have to go rotated turbo kit for them to work????

I've gone the rotated route...on a dedicated sprint car.

Using a gt30 xtr billet hoping to get over 500hp on a 2.0 open block.

But avcs heads and a syvecs will follow on shortly after ....
