Finally given up on 2.5 Legacy Outback 1997 as will only run on three. MOT next June taxed end Nov. Really good otherwise. Local guru says Head gasket issue.
£205 offered by Remove My Car. Really a shame to scrap. Any interest to anyone for a wee bit more????

Put it on eBay £1 start no reserve on a 10 day auction, list it very honestly with lots of pictures and ill bet you get a decent price.

Really don't want it to go as superb drive but village garage wants £600 plus to do gasket Would love to find someone who could fit me a second hand engine at a sensible price though!

Good on you Fifers! Father in law was from Leven and the Scooby stayed in Lower Largo for a week recently.
Had a word with a breaker who said 2.5 engines are dicey and even if I bought one it couldn't be trusted.
wish I knew that would have got a 2 or 2.2 instead!

Not sure if thats the case or not, mate. just that breaker said they are a riskier engine to re-sell than the smaller ones.
